Due to its' adaptability and low cost, Synthetic Fibres has gained popularity world-wide. The continuous increase in the use of Technical textiles has also created avenues for accelerated growth of the Synthetic Fibres.

Over the years the Council has initiated wide ranging promotional programmes. While the Members should hold their present buyers, they should always endeavour to increase their clientele. I am sure the Council must have targeted many of the more difficult and distant markets. The Government has been extending its support for exploring new markets. I welcome any further suggestion of the Council in this regard.

Now, let me focus my attention to the stars of this evening – the Award Winners. They truly deserve our whole-hearted congratulations for their sterling export performance. We are grateful to them for their significant contribution to the national economy.

I also hope that this memorable occasion would serve as an inspiration for other exporters to follow the path of excellence and provide us an opportunity to felicitate them. I am confident the recognition we confer on the Award Winners today will encourage them to aspire for greater achievements in future.
