300 foreign buyers to visit India Carpet Expo

The country's largest fair on handmade carpets and floor-coverings, the next India Carpet Expo [ICE] is being organized by the Carpet Export Promotion Council at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 2nd March to 5th March 2008.

This event will be followed by an 'Exhibition-cum-Buyer-Seller-Meet' on 6th and 7 March, 2008 at SMS convention Centre in Jaipur.

Both these mega events are all set to a grand gala success by all means. The Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce, Shri Kamal Nath ji has given his kind consent to inaugurate the Expo in New Delhi.

The Hon'ble Minister of Textiles, Secretary Commerce, Secretary Textiles, Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) and other high Government dignitaries of Ministry of Commerce and textiles are to witness this flame-buoyant occasion so as to boost the morale of the small manufacturer-exporters of this rural based cottage industry and for the promotion of the trade.

Shri Ashok Jain, the dynamic Chairman of the Carpet Export Promotion Council apprised that this fair will be the largest ever organized Expo for the carpet industry in India.

More than 300 Foreign Carpet Buyers shall be visiting this fair to transact business. So far 150 foreign buyers have registered themselves for their participation.

The CEPC is making all possible efforts to invite almost all leading overseas buyers from all the prominent carpet importing countries.

Council is also receiving overwhelming response from the members for booking of space in the Expo, as on date 100 participants have booked a total space of 2800 sq. metres for exhibiting their products.
