Chairman Handicrafts Development Corporation, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar inaugurated a handicrafts show room at Lal Chowk Srinagar.
The show room which came up at Rs. 23 lakh would also be sale outlet of the Corporation in the Valley.
The objective of setting up of sales centre is to boost the sale of Kashmir carpets and better the living condition of artisans associated with handicrafts.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman revealed that the state-of-art show rooms-cum-sale outlets have been set up in Chandigarh and Jammu.
He said that at present 22 show rooms of the Corporation are active in various parts of the country and the world.
He said that the Corporation is taking many steps to develop the Kashmiri handicrafts.
Managing Director Abdul Hameed Khanday also spoke on the occasion and said that to boost the handicrafts, Corporation is making every effort to develop the infrastructure so that artisans are better placed.
Superintending Engineer, R&B and other functionaries were also present in the occasion.
