Earnings thru rayon yarn exports moves up

According to the latest statistics released by the Customs, in December, around 4090 tons of rayon yarn was exported from the country. The figures show slight downfall by 0.39 percent from the same period of 2006 and 7.43 percent fall from November.

Total export value scored nearly US $16.53 million, up 19.56 percent from the same period last year, but plunged 3.69 percent from November.

The average export price for the rayon yarn was quoted at $4041.8 per ton in December, demonstrating a significant increase of 20.02 percent over $3367.48 per ton in the same month last year and 4.02 percent up from November.

Among the total exports of this particular product, shipments of non-retail and viscose / cotton blended yarn and other staple fiber yarn touched 217.63 tons, increased about 42.18 percent over the previous month.

Country's total exports of all types of rayon yarn in 2007 reached almost 62098 tons, rendering a growth of around 22460 tons from 2006, up 56.67 percent.

Among entire export products, shipments of non-retail and other man-made fiber yarn were around 36543 tons, accounting for over 58 percent of total rayon yarn exports. Currency earned from all kinds of rayon yarns were around $239.76 million, up 52 percent year-on-year.

Average price of rayon yarn exports in 2007 remained at $3891.42 per ton, representing a minor drop of 2.94 percent year-on-year.
