VINATEX ushers an era of textile revolution

With textile industry booming in Vietnam, human resource, technological up gradation and large scale investment have become issues of prominence. It was concerning these subjects that the Vietnam Garment and Textile Corporation (VINATEX) gave an elaborate review about how crucial it is for the industry to keep pace with the growing demands of the volatile market.
In an exclusive interview with Fibre2fashion, Mr Le Tien Truong, Managing Director of VINATEX, said “With every organization human resource development plays a critical role in the growth process. VINATEX has also followed the strategy of continuous improvement in productivity and quality and for this modernizing human resource becomes a priority.”
Further, Mr Le confided saying that the association plans to double its sales turnover every 5 years and has also undertaken equitization process which is expected to get completed by 2009. Besides, it is planning to expand its business activities to other lucrative areas like retailing, financial investment and real estate.
Being the second largest contributor to the country's Gross Domestic Product, textile and garment industry has witnessed a continuous growth of over 25 percent annually since 2000. Last year, the growth stood at around 34 percent and it is needless to say that the garment industry is one of the largest employment generating sector in Vietnam.
VINATEX is all set to flood the international market and this would well go hand in hand with sound expansion strategies, tapping of viable potential markets and uninterrupted organizational development.
