Bluestar Silicones and Quintenas Textile Solutions have announced the signing of an agreement to develop advantex technology. This agreement grants Quintenas Textile Solutions sole rights for advantex technology developed by Bluestar Silicones.

On the strength of its textiles expertise in the Active Sports, fashion sportswear and professional clothing, Quintenas Textile Solutions will have responsibility for developing high performance fabric composites for these markets using advantex technology.

Quintenas Textile Solutions will also carry out manufacturing and marketing. Bluestar Silicones will continue to provide research and development and will be in charge of promoting and protecting the silicones chemistry-based advantex technology brand.

This cooperation will allow each of the partners to focus on their field of expertise to guarantee sports and professional users the best silicones technology suited to development and manufacturing requirements in the textiles world.

Successfully sold since the start of 2006, advantex technology results from unique cooperation between technical clothing professionals and chemists. Fabrics using advantex technology combine the advantages of “Hardshell” and “Softshell”: combining durable weather protection, lightness and freedom of movement in the most extreme conditions through unique technology that penetrates to the heart of the fiber.

Beyond its current applications in the mountain sports field, this technology opens up new solutions in all outdoor, medical or professional clothing applications.

Bluestar Silicones (ex Rhodia Silicones) is one of the top world-wide integrated silicones producers with leading positions on high added values specialties markets such as performance elastomers (molding, paramedical, automotive industry), release coatings (for packaging, adhesives) and textiles coatings (airbags, technical fabrics, lingerie).

Quintenas Textile Solutions, on the strength of its industrial integration, is involved in the search for added value in technical fabrics supplied to active sports, fashion sportswear and professional usage players.
