Central Asian cotton output dominates domestic turnover

Turnovers in the domestic market were dominated by the Central Asian growths during the past week. Buyers were preferred their faster availability, but also the better prices as a substitute for inquired West African and Greek styles.
New contracts for Upland cotton concentrated mainly on near dates and were basically not closed beyond the second quarter 2008 indicating still considerable demand for this period of time.
In the Upland range, sales were registered in Central Asian sorts for prompt and further in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2008; West African types for the 2nd quarter 2008.
In the ELS/LS range were traded: Egyptian GIZA 88 for the 2nd quarter 2008 and Sudan Barakat for the 3rd and 4th quarter 2008.
