Diverse market for furniture lures domestic traders

Bamboo made furniture of Bangladesh is becoming a rage among local dwellers. Popular for its uniqueness and exquisite beauty, these wood works are finally finding space in domestic housings as well as in international markets.
However, a major drawback comes by way of insufficient financial assistance to manufacturers who seek expansion of their business beyond national boundaries.
Not that there is a dearth of export orders for these exclusively designed, luxurious furniture. Dealers generally come across an absence of knock-down facility to make transaction process more convenient.
A National Women SME Expo 2008 is currently being hosted at the Bashundhara Shopping Mall in Dhaka. The fair has a lot to offer to excited buyers.
Starting from table, sofa, bench, shelves, dining table and TV rack to garden accessories and indoor and outdoor decor items, it has countless bamboo wooden works to offer to buyers having a cognition of its worth.
Although, China and Indonesia are having a monopoly in the world market for bamboo furniture, Bangladesh can prove itself a tough contender if it manages to upgrade its technology by importing machines for the purpose.
