This month, Shanghai Quality Inspection Bureau has released investigation result regarding quality of cashmere clothes sold in Shanghai city. A total of 37 categories were inspected and qualified rate reached nearly 86.5 percent.
Although the number of cashmere garments sold in city is increasing every year, its quality has some problems as the fabric contains methylene dichloride which is quite unhealthy for the wearers.
Only those garments which have more than 95 percent of cashmere content are considered pure, rest are counted as mixed. Recently, the domestic market is flooded with garments which are not pure cashmere yet are sold as one.
Some manufacturers are labeling garments showing wrong percentage of cashmere. As a result, Government departments related to this sector are investigating the enterprises which produce and sell unqualified cashmere clothes.
