Britain's textile machinery companies are ready to show their innovative power at this year's ITMA Asia exhibition (October 17-21).
At least a dozen completely new machines or units will be launched by UK firms in Singapore, with end-uses ranging from components for synthetic fibre manufacture to adhesive laminating systems.
A clear emphasis on new and upgraded products underlines the importance attached to ITMA Asia by these companies, whose participation is organised and led by their representative body, the British Textile Machinery Association (BTMA).
Says BTMA chairman Steve Combes: “Asia is, of course, the dominant market region in most textile sectors, and our member companies have worked hard to establish strong relationships with manufacturers there. The quality of British products, combined with innovations that focus directly on the specific needs of the customer, is vitally important, as is the need for effective local and regional sales and support networks."
“We are expecting ITMA Asia to reflect the dynamism of the Asian textile manufacturers, as well as their expertise in selecting the correct level of equipment for their market conditions. BTMA members are well-equipped to provide the right options, and we are confident that Singapore will see a further upsurge in business for UK firms.”
Testing and quality control is an area in which the UK now leads the world, and at least seven of the British exhibitors in Singapore will show their latest ranges.
