Recently, a delegation of the textile Industry Association of China visited the capital city of Ashgabat. The delegation was led by Mr Yuen, Deputy Chairman of the Association.
The members of the delegation held talks with the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan and discussed about the expansion of mutually beneficial projects through cooperation.
China proposed to cooperate in a number of areas like in the processing of wool, silk and skins. Besides, collaboration in the field of supplying modern textile equipment was also offered by the country.
A part of the visit included a tour of the members of the association to the Ashgabat shelkomotalnuyu factories, 'Turkmenbashi' textile and jeans complexes.
Most importantly, it was concluded at the meeting that one of the most promising areas of cooperation between the two countries would be sericulture. Both the sides have decided to set up a factory for the production of velvet.
Funds for the project will either come as a grant or as loan from the Chinese Government.
