Asean expo awards Thai handicrafts

Three very beautiful and exquisite Thai handicrafts were awarded at the recently held ASEAN Handicraft Exhibition.
The event was hosted by the ASEAN Handicraft Promotion and Development Association and the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand.
Held at the Bang Sai Folk Arts and Crafts Center in Ayutthaya, the exhibition displayed a variety of handicrafts from various countries.
Ten extraordinary master pieces were awarded at the expo of which three belonged to Thailand. These included Kanok-Pastra (a fabric woven with gold threads with intricate design of Kanok pattern), the Elephant Family woodcarving set, and a triangle shape reed woven vase.
The contest had six categories of handicrafts divided into fabric and products from hand woven cloths, ceramic, basketwork, wood and stone carving, ornament and metal works and mixed handicraft products.
