AATCC announces C2C/CITDA Design Competition

AATCC launched its fourth annual design competition developed by its Concept 2 Consumer (C2C) interest group and the Computer Integrated Textile Design Association (CITDA). The theme of this year's design competition was Earth Day, Every Day.

We received 140 entries, representing 25 different institutions. The finalists listed below will submit story boards and final products for judging to take place on May 5, 2008.

Winners will be announced at AATCC's C2C interest group meeting, held during the AATCC Spring Committee Meetings in May (finalists are not required to be present for the announcement).

Winning entries will receive cash awards of US$1,000 for first place and US$500 for second place in each sub-category, plus complimentary student registrations for the 2009 AATCC International Conference (IC), in Myrtle Beach, S.C, USA, March 10-12.

Interior/Outdoor Design, Fabric Design Finalists:
- Alternative Design for Umbrella Fabrics by Megumi Caitlin Doi, Rhode Island School of Design
- Everything Goes Around Comes Around by Hyun M. Koh, Rhode Island School of Design
- Simplicity by Laura Walgenbach and Laralyn Lveders,
University of Wisconsin-Madison
- Spontaneity within Boundaries by Saera Lee, Rhode Island School of Design
- Wool You Be Mine? by Monica Ogrodowski, Rhode Island School of Design

Interior/Outdoor Design, Product Design Finalist:
- Sunshine Moon Beam by Brittany Campbell, The Cleveland Institute of Art
