In order to revive the handicraft and handloom industry of Yemen, Mohammed al-Maflahi, Cultural Minister, recently held a meeting with ambassadors of Tunisia and Mauritius.
Yemen aims to hold various exhibitions and cultural events in these countries in order to make the culture popular among Tunisian and Mauritania people.
All these nations have a huge baggage of culture and heritage which can be exchanged and promoted, through joint cultural programmes.
Craft and carpets of Yemen, are renowned globally for there exclusive and brilliant designs. However, due to various factors these sectors are getting on the verge of shut down, which has become a matter of concern for the nation.
The Cultural Minister hopes that this initiative will bring back the glory to the carpet and handicraft industry.
