Ashgabat celebrates exclusive expo for private entrepreneurs

The Sergi Kosgi exhibition center in Ashgabat hosted an expo on March 17 displaying goods manufactured by private commodity producers of Turkmenistan.
This expo was first of its kind in the country and saw participation by over 200 privately owned companies, individual enterprises and producers having an expertise in various production processes.
The event had a whole range of consumer goods and services to offer. Products like textile, garment, furniture and traditional folk crafts attracted a large crowd at the fair.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition. He visited various stalls, interacted with the participants, inquired about their business profitability and problems faced by them.
However, this was not just an initiative taken for publicity. President Gurbanguly actually held a cabinet meeting later on to discuss developmental issues regarding private entrepreneurs.
