Govt to make Sinkiang a quality textile production hub

Government of China has already implemented the policy of shifting the textile enterprises from the eastern side of the country to the west.
Initially, advantages of local cotton and preferential policies had attracted a teeming group of enterprises to set up factories in SinKiang Province, reputed for being the largest cotton production base in China, such as, the Youngor Group.
However, East China is presently facing innumerable problems like shortage of land and energy, rising labor and transportation cost, increased prices of raw materials and many others.
In line with these adverse circumstances, SinKiang Province has plans to change its mainstay from cotton planting to the manufacturing of high quality textile products.
Local Government intends to bring about this change by 2010 making SinKiang Province a production base for high quality gauze and by 2020, they would successfully manage to make it a high-quality textile hub in China.
