Acrylic & polypropylene fibers output takes a down turn

According to the latest data provided by the National Bureau of Statistics, China produced nearly 55,937 tons of acrylic fiber in the month of February. A plunge of 7,330 tons or 11.69 percent from the previous month is seen and a decline of 23.00 percent from the same time last year.
Cumulative production of acrylic fiber marked 119,204 tons in the period between January-February 2008, representing a fall of 20.35 percent from the similar period previous year.
Statistics provided by the same organization shows that country's production of polypropylene fibers registered 15,578 tons in February 2008, which demonstrated a fall of 6,645 tons, 5.94 percent from January. However, 32.20 percent rise year-on-year can be seen.
Total production of polypropylene fibers touched around 37,801 tons in the first two months of the ongoing year with a growth of 25.35 percent over the same period last year.
