Motexha 2008, the biggest exhibition for garments, textiles, leather and fashion accessory is concluding today on a successful note. The trade show brought around 50 nations under one roof to display their products at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

The event serves as a networking base for major global buyers and sellers. Each country aims to outperform the other in order to gain maximum trade from the flourishing Gulf market.

Motexha, has witnessed maximum participation from Chinese companies this time. The country can boast of exporting textile and garment worth US $171.2 billion in 2007.

Turkey, stands second in terms of participation with presently holding eighth place in world textile scenario and fourth in ready-to-wear segment. The country earned around $9.5 from textile exports and nearly $13 billion from ready made exports last year.

Number three position is earned by Indonesia with its biggest ever participation. The export of textile has been constant at around $7 to $8 billion annually.

India has acquired fourth place with the constant support from Apparel Export Promotion Council. Italian fashion is extremely popular in Arabian regions which helped the nation gain fifth place.

Bangladesh is slowly gaining important position in global textile market and its sixth place in Motexha reflects it clearly. From the total exported items, garments accounts for 80 percent share in country's foreign earnings.

Recently, all the leading international textile and garment producers are competing to gain a bigger market share in Gulf region, customers here have a capacity to spend a lot on clothing items. As the Middle East market is presently worth around $12 billion and is expected to grow further.
