Robert Matheson, Jr, Ph.D to chair Ecology SAB

Ecology Coatings Inc, a leader in the discovery and development of ultra-violet curable, clean-technology advanced materials, announced that Robert R. Matheson, Jr., Ph.D., has joined the company's Scientific Advisory Board as its chairman. Dr. Matheson, Technical Manager for DuPont Tyvek, has a distinguished career spanning decades in macromolecular physics, coating materials and processes, lifecycle assessment and organic material science.

"I am pleased to be joining Ecology Coatings' Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)," commented Dr. Matheson. "I predict that the significant reduction in the amount of energy required for curing when utilizing Ecology's unique platform of nanotechnology-enabled coatings, when compared to traditional coating materials and processes, will bring about profound change to manufacturers worldwide. I look forward to using my experience to help the company further the commercialization of its products."

Ecology's clean technology coatings provide superior wear, scratch resistance and hardness with a single application, which reduces coating thickness and offers versatility in applications. All of Ecology's coatings are ultra-violet curable, which decreases manufacturing time, lowers energy consumption and allows for a smaller manufacturing footprint. Additionally, the coatings contain virtually no harmful solvents or other chemicals, which eliminate the release of harmful airborne emissions during the curing process.
