During the first three months of 2008, enterprises of Binh Duong Province exported products worth US $1.35 billion, representing a year–on–year growth of 23 percent.
Of these, exports from FDI operated companies garnered a growth of 28.7 percent, state–owned by 17.7 percent and private sectors were up by 7.4 percent.
The key commodities of the province which saw a rise in consumption include wood works worth $256.4 million, boost of 9.4 percent. Textile and garment products worth $182.2 million were exported, grew by 2.3 percent, where as shipments of footwear touched $160 million demonstrated ascend of 7 percent.
In the same line, the region earned nearly $52.6 million from exporting handicraft artifacts showed a rise of 13.9 percent.
The FDI operated enterprises accounted for 75.8 percent of total exports turnover of the province.
With the commencement of 2008, People's Committee of Binh Duong Province had kicked off a program for the promotion of exports of its region and has set an ambitious target for itself.
Accordingly, the province expects to earn $2.8 billion by 2010 from exports of wood works; $1.17 billion from textile and garment, with annual growth of 27 percent, $1.8 billion from footwear, at 30.58 percent and handicraft products for $282 million.
