Rayon yarn price in Shengze sees steep plunge

Recently, rayon yarn price in Shengze market figured a declining trend, with varieties of 10S, 13S, 20S, 30S, 40S can be purchased at a price ranging from 23,400, 23,500, 23,900, 24,600, and 25,700 yuan per ton respectively. A difference of 200 to 300 yuan per ton can be observed for most of the products.
Experts cited various reasons for such a significant drop in rayon yarn price. Firstly, the plunge in the upstream VSF price has forced to cut down the rates of rayon yarn. Secondly, as weaving factories have large stocks, demand for rayon yarn in the market was sluggish.
According to the market professionals, thinner profit margins, throat cut competition along with unstable attitude of the market as well as traders, induces merchants to sell their stocks at lower prices.
Presently, average price of viscose fiber market has fell further to 19,850 yuan per ton. Market outlook is expected to follow a downward trend.
