Carpet expo in Qinghai to highlight Tibetan artwork

The 2008 Qinghai Tibet-Carpet International Exposition will commence from May 16 and will run till the 21 of the month in Xining City, at the Qinghai International Carpet Exhibition Center.

Tibetan, Sinkiang and Persian carpets are known world-wide for their exquisite prowess in the art of carpet making.

This expo will provide immense opportunity for the development of Tibet Carpet industry and a large number of countries including China, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan are expected to participate in the event. Additionally, carpet selling enterprises from over 20 provinces in China will also attend the fair.

Last year, the volume of business reached US $43.8 million earning a good reputation for Tibetan carpets in the world market.

Government of China has given an insight to the fair revealing that the events will include a fantabulous display of Tibetan carpets, spot trading and placing orders for the same and sale of raw materials, accessories and Tibet traditional artwork.

At the same time, the 2008 Qinghai Tibet-Carpet International Exposition will also host live demonstration of handwork spinning, the plant dyeing, production flow of the handwork weaving and machine-made carpets.
