Clariant named Ahlstrom's 2007 'Best Supplier of the Year'

Clariant has been recognized as 'Best Supplier of the Year' for 2007 by Ahlstrom, a global manufacturer of specialty papers and non-woven materials. The award, presented at a ceremony in Paris on March 19th, named Clariant as Ahlstrom's preferred supplier in the chemicals sector – repeating a 2006 award – as well as overall best supplier.

For the award, Ahlstrom's sites worldwide were asked to evaluate their preferred suppliers against criteria such as global ability, quality management, price versus market, reaction time on requests, on-time deliveries, safety, cooperation & support/technical assistance, number of claims versus number of deliveries and continuous improvement (innovation/pro-activity).

The 2007 suppliers' categories were natural fibers, chemicals and synthetic fibers and non raw materials. Clariant was recognized not only as best supplier in its own category – chemicals and synthetic fibers, but also as overall 'Best Supplier of the Year'.

History of partnership:
The award follows several years of close work between Clariant and Ahlstrom. In 2006, this cooperation led to a tailored program of support for the non-woven and paper businesses. In the United States,Clariant invested in staff and production facilities to support the development of new emulsions products together with Ahlstrom.
