The past couple of years have seen a steady growth in bilateral trade between Pakistan and Switzerland. However, the huge potential for trade that lies between both the countries has not been fully exploited yet.
Official delegates of both the countries believe that more effort and initiative needs to be taken to tap this abundant potential.
A head start can be made by exchanging delegations and enhancing communication between entrepreneurs of the two countries.
In the previous year, bilateral trade between the two reached US $508 million, with Pakistan importing $37 million worth of textiles, carpets and other goods.
Presently, Switzerland exports textile machineries and chemicals among others, to Pakistan where as purchases textile and garments from the country.
As a matter of fact, Switzerland is recognized as one of the top seven countries to make foreign direct investments in Pakistan.
