Weavers roll down captivating carpets at Kish Intl expo

The most awaited international hand-woven carpet expo began in a big way on April 29 in Kish, Southern Iran, that will continue to attract global dealers till May 2, to look at some of the most amazing and interesting designs.

More than 200 carpet manufacturers and buyers from different parts of world including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Nepal, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are participating in this fair to showcase their exclusive hand made rugs and floor coverings for which they are renowned far and wide.

During the four day expo, lot of deals are expected to take place as this event gives an extraordinary chance to glance at beautiful designs by craftsmen from various countries.

The purpose behind holding this fair is to boost the carpet industry and provide opportunity to enterprises to understand the global market in a better way, as some of the artisans come from remote areas.

The carpet exhibition is organized in association with Kish Free Trade Zone, Iran Carpet Company, Persian Carpet Association, Central Association of Persian Hand Woven Producers and Rural Carpet Cooperative Company.

This is the second time that the exhibition is being organized in Kish. The number of participants has risen nearly 50 percent, indicating the need for such events that help in promoting products on a grand scale.
