Import of various raw materials in March

With the growing economy, and high demand in the international market, there has been a rise in the productions processes of the country. Higher requirement of the manufacturing units has led China to increase its imports of various raw materials.

Latest Customs statistics reveal that the country imported 1623.83 tons of rayon yarn in the month of March, which is 155.16 percent more compared to the previous month, but down 24.13 percent from the corresponding period last year.

The country had spent US $6.6742 million for purchasing rayon yarn, showing an increase of 127.36 percent over last month, but down 20.93 percent year-on-year.

The average price of rayon yarn imports stood at $4110.14 per ton, surging by 4.21 percent on year, however, a fall of 10.89 percent is seen compared to previous month.

The country imported 48,500 tons of caprolactum (CPL) in March, representing an increase of 8,200 tons from 40,300 tons imported in February. The impoting price during this month averaged at about $2,468 per ton.

Nearly 57,100 tons of nylon 6 chips were imported in March, representing an rise of 23,500 tons from 33,600 tons imported in February. The price quoted for this product stood at $2,781 per ton, down about $40 per ton from $2821 per ton in February.

Imports of acrylic tow reached 9,078 tons in March, this year, showing an increase of 3,033 tons compared with February. Materials imported for processing trade accounted for 60 percent, and imports for general trade accounted for 27 percent.
