An exquisite exhibition of Iranian tribesmen handicraft is being hosted by Japan at the Tobacco and Salt Museum in Shibuyo district of Tokyo.
The expo lucidly brings out the rich cultural heritage of the Iranian civilization through the spectacular display of a plethora of handicrafts made by members of Qashqaei nomadic tribe of Iran.
Some of the most exotic handicrafts belonging to Qashqaei tribesmen include Jajims (short napped coarse), Gelims (coarse woven woolen floor cover), tents and salt containers, ancient man made rugs and others.
A very significant aspect of the fair is that the items exhibited were a part of the collection made by a Japanese citizen interested in Iranian traditions and art. This goes to show that cultural bonds between two nations can be stronger than the territorial ones.
