Oxford cloth demand springs up after earthquake

Oxford cloth, a fabric that is water resistant and extremely tough, is in great demand in Wenchuan and Sichuan after earthquake had hit the regions badly on May 21. The relief camps are using this fabric for putting up tents for affected people.
One of the known tent production enterprise in Zhejiang Province, cancelled its overseas consignments in order to provide help to disaster hit areas.
The trade volume of relief tent made from Oxford cloth has increased significantly in Shengze market. Of which, filament variety is most popular among the local merchants for its good quality and low prices.
Filament 'Oxford cloth' has two varieties, Specification 1 X 1 is of polyester FDY135D/36F blended fabric, the market price of which is nearly 1.64 yuan per meter. The second variety, Specification 1 X 2 is of polyester FDY135D/36F and FDY300D intertwined fabric, market price of which is approximately 2.00 yuan per meter.
Over the years, Oxford cloth has undergone many characterized processes of dyeing, finishing, coating and other trims that has increased its popularity in the local market.
