Textiles and garment exports via Ningbo port to Japan reached US $200 million in January to April 2008, an increase of over 11 percent, and accounted for about 21 percent of the total exports to the country.
Japan became the fourth largest import source and the third largest export market of Ningbo port during the period.
According to customs statistics, from January to April this year, the import and export trade between Ningbo port and Japan recorded $2.28 billion, up 25.9 percent from the same time last year, realizing a trade deficit of $380 million. Textile and garment were important export products.
