Govt agrees to lift anti-dumping taxes on Chinese goods

An agreement was concluded between China and Mexico in Arequipa, Peru, during which the latter annulled anti-dumping taxes on 749 varieties of products manufactured in China.

The agreement will be soon sent forward to the Mexico senate for approval. Earlier, the country had imposed anti-dumping taxes of on 953 kinds of products mainly garments, textile goods, shoes and toys among others.

As many as four attempts for negotiation for removing these anti-dumping taxes had been carried out since November 2007 up until April 2008.

However, despite the relaxation of taxes on 749 kinds of Chinese products, Mexico will continue to impose the same for other 204 goods also manufactured in China till December 2011.
