Protest against mulesed wool has nearly stagnated demand for wool in the global market and domestic wool processing companies have raised concern about this abject business situation.
Chargeurs International recently announced relieving of 23 jobs next month due to lack of business brought about by lowering demand for wool.
If the situation does not improve, it will not only reduce the company's operations, but will also cut its revenues considerably.
The company has reorganized its business three years ago and had so far done a successful business in China and Europe until its customers started demanding non-mulesed wool which was not easy to fulfill.
With consistent drop in demand and scarce chances of producing non-mulesed wool, it is difficult to see Chargeurs and others in the similar field, sustain its operations for long.
