Polyester chip & filament production takes a plunge in April

According to the statistics provided by China Textile Circulation Association, production of polyester chips and filament in the month of April, witnessed a decline when compared to March as well as from the same time of 2007.
The production of polyester chips reached nearly 4,54,174 tons. This shows a slight fall of 0.02 percent from the previous month and represents a year-on-year decline of 333 tons, or 0.07 percent.
The sales of polyester chips in April was almost 4,30,464 tons, down by 19,527 tons or 4.34 percent from the previous month, showcasing a yearly slump of 39,406 tons, or 8.39 percent.
In the same month, stock registered was 1,44,692 tons, a significant rise of 23,712 tons or 19.60 percent when compared to March, representing a year-on-year growth of 64,406 tons, or 80.23 percent.
The production and sale rate was 94.78 percent in April, a decrease of 4.27 percentage points when compared to previous month, down by 8.60 percentage points when compared to same time of 2007.
Similarly, the production of polyester filament also experienced a decline in the month of April and reached almost 205,687 tons. It shows a reduction of 3,016 tons or 1.45 percent when compared to March, representing a year-on-year fall of 330 tons, or 0.16 percent.
The sales registered in April were almost 196,437 tons, down 10,747 tons or 5.19 percent from the previous month, showing a yearly drop of 25,397 tons, or 11.45 percent.
April stock stayed at 81,861 tons, showcasing a significant boost of 9,247 tons or 12.73 percent from the previous month, giving a year-on-year growth of 40,002 tons, or 95.56 percent.
However, the production and sale rate of polyester filament in April was 95.50 percent, a decline of 3.77 percentage points when compared to March and a fall of 12.18 points from the same time of 2007.
