Market for cotton yarns remain stable in May

Domestic yarn market had acquired a sluggish course in May, contrary to the expected seasonal happy mood. Pure cotton yarn market appeared a little better with more stable trend and sales volume of some products increased. However, being impacted by both upstream and downstream sectors, promotion of its market price was limited.
From the varieties in market, sales of combed cotton yarns observed an improvement in May; the market was relatively stable. Cotton JC32S, JC40S were salable. Sales demand of nylon/cotton products enlarged, while pushing the demand of cotton yarn 32S for jet-looms and cotton yarn 32s market slightly rebounded in the second half of May.
On the other hand, Shengze market price of cotton yarn 32s stabilized at 19,100 yuan per ton in May, which is almost similar to the previous month. Qianqing market price of cotton yarn 32s was stable in 19300-20500 yuan per ton, sales were fair, market demand for cotton carded yarn 60s made from lower quality cotton declined, but market price remained stable.
According to the trend of Chinese yarn price index, market performance of JC40 was most stable in May, its price stayed at 23,420 yuan per ton, while that for C32S enlarged its trade volume after getting through a doldrums in the first half of May, its market price also slightly rebounded.
However, overall market sentiment of air spinning cotton yarn was relatively low; price index of OE 10 fell to 12,470 yuan per ton by theend of May from 12,500 Yuan per ton at the beginning of the month, down 30 yuan per ton.
