METabolic EXplorer's portfolio includes the following compounds (in alphabetic order): - butanol: used in the manufacture of paints and adhesives. - glycolic acid: used in the manufacture of cosmetics and biodegradable plastics. - L-methionine: used in the manufacture of feed additives. - MPG (1,2-propanediol), used in the manufacture of personal hygiene products and furnishings. - PDO (1,3-propanediol), used in the manufacture of textile fibres, polymers and coolants.
In order to prepare this major step forward towards the much anticipated industrialization of its technologies, METabolic EXplorer has decided to commit earlier additional resources and add right now extra capacity to its pre-industrial pilot facilities.
These investments will enable a 50% increase in the company's pre-industrial pilot development capabilities. The goal of this capacity increase is to maintain the pre-industrial development momentum for all its in-house products in parallel.
After one year as a listed company and with the scientific, bioinformatics and industrial skills of over 80 staff, METabolic EXplorer has clearly demonstrated its commitment to the practical development of alternatives to petrochemicals.
The pre-industrial pilot phase enables acquisition of the process parameters required for industrial scale-up and thus constitutes a significant milestone on the road to process industrialization.
