Hungerbühler reappointed as Chairman at Swiss Textile Federation

At the Annual General Meeting of the Swiss Textile Federation held on 17 June 2008 in Solothurn, the present Chairman, Max R. Hungerbühler, Bischoff Textil AG, St. Gallen, was confirmed in office for a further term (2008 – 2011). Urs Rickenbacher, Lantal Textiles, Langenthal, was newly appointed to the Committee.

This year, the Swiss Textile Federation invited its member companies to Solothurn for its general meeting. Welcoming the representatives of the textile industry, Solothurn City President Kurt Fluri described his home town as Switzerland's most elegant baroque city.

At the general meeting, Max. R. Hungerbühler, Bischoff Textil AG, St. Gallen, was unanimously reappointed as Chairman for the 2008 – 2011 term of office of the TVS.

The following representatives were newly elected to the Committee or Commissions:
- Urs Rickenbacher, Lantal Textiles, Langenthal: joins the Committee and the Commission for Training Matters and Furtherance of Young People (AUK)
- Nicole Camenzind, Camenzind + Co. AG, Gersau: joins the Commission for Employer and Social Policy (KARSO)
- Andreas Sallmann, ISA Sallmann AG, Amriswil: joins the Commission for PR and Collective Advertising (KPK)
- Simon Gleich, Kuny AG, Küttigen: joins the Commission for the Environment and Technology (KUT)

Following the official part of the General Meeting, the participants had the pleasure of listening to a fascinating presentation by Kurt Haerri, Member of the Management Committee of Schindler Aufzüge AG and Chairman of the Switzerland – China Chamber of Commerce, on the subject China a world power makes its comeback.
