Huntsman announces additional Tio2 energy

The Pigments division of Huntsman Corporation announced that it will implement energy related surcharges on TIOXIDE titanium dioxide pigments, effective from 1st August 2008.

These energy surcharges are in addition to the previously announced surcharge of 4th June 2008 and are a consequence of continued escalation of energy-related costs affecting our industry.

Simon Turner, Senior Vice President of Huntsman Pigments, said, “the business continues to experience additional increases in energy costs since the announcement of 4th June, which necessitate further surcharges.”

The following surcharges will be applied and billed out starting on August 1st for all regions and will be added to the previously announced surcharges:
• €50/te in Europe
• USD $75/te for all sales in Latin America, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific
• $0.03 per pound for all sales in North America.

Huntsman Pigments sales representatives will provide further information to individual customers on this key issue, as well as specific details about announcements concerning regional pricing to mitigate the increased costs of raw materials and services.
