bluesign technologies ag announces that M.I.T.I. spa, Italy has signed the contract to perform a bluesign screening.

M.I.T.I. relies on a bluesign screening to practically manage all environmental, health and safety(EHS) issues.

In a second step, after the successful implementation of the recommendations given in the screening report, M.I.T.I. will integrate the bluesign standard in its manufacturing site to proactively manage all environmental aspects from the very beginning.

The bluesign screening includes a detailed on-site evaluation of the environmental, resource and workplace situation of the textile manufacturing sites according to the five principles of the bluesign standard including resource productivity, consumer safety, air emission, water emission and occupational health and safety. It indicates resource saving and cost saving potentials compared to "Best Available Technology".

“We are very happy having gained M.I.T.I. – a company that is strongly committed to the environment since 1957. With M.I.T.I. aboard, we gained a very interesting company who is traditionally dedicated to reducing its ecological footprint. This cultural legacy, established as basic principle in a time when the economic boom dominated Europe, is admirable" says Mr. Peter Waeber, CEO of bluesign technologies ag.

Mr. Gian Piero Orsina, General Manager of M.I.T.I.comments:“In this challenging time of revolutionary changes, we are enthusiastically running a wide program of improvements in the organisation, corporate behaviours, processes, utilities and raw material consumption, in order to offer a new generation of fabrics, that will provide benefits and advantages in terms of health, safety and environmental protection in a long term perspective to all of us. We're strongly convinced that bluesign technologies ag is the ideal partner that will support and allow us to produce our fabrics in a more eco-friendly and sustainable way.”
