Filament shows mixed trend in Shengze Market

Different filaments like island filament and polyester/ nylon composite filament showed mixed trend from June 30 to July 6 in Shengze market.
The sale of island filament in Shengze market was moderate, product price was in correction and general market had no sign of improvement.
Market price trend of island composite filament DTY215D-225D was at 17000-17200 yuan per ton; islands composite filament DTY105D/36F × 37 was quoted at about 21,500 yuan per ton, showcasing a slight change from the previous week.
The trade mainly focused on islands composite filament DTY105D, however, the demand for island composite filament FDY75D was dull.
The current price performance of polyester raw materials was flat, in addition, supply of island filament is sufficient. However, experts suggest piling up of the product buy some traders may prove unfavorable for island filament market.
Finally, main fabrics for production in the second half of 2008 have not yet been decided, so manufacturers are opting for conventional polyester fabrics, in order to avoid market risks. The demand for island filament is obviously insufficient, it is anticipated that short-term market trend of the same will move along in low level.
From June 30 to July 6, although polyester filament market was in a weak state, market price of the product in Shengze remained steady. Market price of composite filament prices of DTY 150D/36F × 16, DTY 160D/72F × 16 polyester/ nylon remained at 19300-19500 yuan per ton at the weekend, similar to previous weekend.
Market central prices of DTY 90D/75F × 16 polyester, DTY 75D/36F × 16 polyester/ nylon were steady at 26,300 yuan per ton and 26,800 yuan per ton.
DTY75D/36F × 16 polyester/ nylon composite filament formed a major trade volume. Fabrics like polyester, nylon and cotton that are mainly used for manufacturing shirts were in great demand. In addition, another cation, polyester and nylon composite filament of 120D also enjoyed good sale.
The price of polyester raw material in upper reaches has increased; polyester filament prices have become stable and it will be relatively favorable for composite filaments.
However, according to the current market situation, the gap between supply and demand of polyester/nylon composite filament will have impact on the market. As a result, polyester/ nylon composite filament market will remain consolidate.
