Market outlook of ethylene prices on July 08

Presently ethylene is experiencing huge demand in the international market. To meet the requirement, various countries throughout the globe, are adding up production facilities and China is not lagging behind.

In last five years, ethylene production in China has seen a significant rise. With large ethylene production bases in Central and West China, the yearly output of the product, is bound to increase by manifolds by the year 2010.

Ethylene prices showed an ascending trend for almost all the importing countries on July 8. Prices quoted for Asian, Far Eastern, European experienced a substantial rise. Quotations for United States remained stable in comparison to the last week.

Ethylene, CFR Northeast Asia, at US $1650-1660 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CFR Southeast Asia, at US $1680-1690 per metric ton.

Ethylene prices in Far East region:

Ethylene, FOB South Korea, at US $1650 per metric ton.
Ethylene, FOB Japan, at US $1650 per metric ton.

Ethylene prices in Europe:

Ethylene, FD Northwest Europe, at Euro 1199.00-1203.00 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CIF Northwest Europe, at US $ 1773.00-1783.00 per metric ton.

Prices in the United States:
Propylene (refining level), FAS Houston, at US cent 77.625-77.875 per lb.
Ethylene, FAS Houston, at US cent 69.375-69.625 per pound.
