Westlake Chemical Corporation announced that it has appointed Donald M. Condon, Jr., 59, Sr. Vice President, Corporate Planning and Business Development, to the new position of Sr. Vice President, Olefins & Corporate Business Development.
In this role he will lead the company's olefins business unit in addition to his current corporate business development role, including overseeing the company's newly opened Asia office located in Shanghai.
The olefins business includes the company's ethylene and related co-products business as well as styrene monomers. Mr. Condon will direct all commercial and related business operations, including feedstock management and will continue to report to Mr. Albert Chao, President and CEO.
"We are pleased to have a proven executive of Don's stature to help us build and strengthen our olefins business while he also continue to help position the company for growth on a global basis," said Albert Chao.
Before joining Westlake in 2006, Mr. Condon served as the Managing Director of Titan Chemicals in Malaysia. Prior to his assignment with Titan, he worked for DuPont and Conoco in a variety of management and executive positions. Mr. Condon holds a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.
