Functional textiles has bright future ahead - Experts

Recently, National Trade Bureau, Foreign Trade Association of Taiwan, Taiwan Textile Federation, as well as other organizations held a conference to further raise awareness regarding functional textiles.
Made-in-Taiwan functional textile products have dominated the global industry for some time now. Thus, the experts said that encouraging and supporting the sector will help expand international market share and also strengthen its position.
At the meeting, the leaders said that it was important to back the four top functional textile manufacturers in Taiwan, namely, Hongyuan, Formosa Taffeta, Ningmei and Singtex.
Insiders revealed that, the authorities were determined to offer these top four players support, so that they can participate in the 'European Outdoors Products Exhibition', which is scheduled of July 19, 2008, in Germany.
Since R&D and innovative products are gaining importance in these tough trade conditions, experts said that they were very optimistic regarding the future of functional textiles.
