Zhengjiang exports mark strong rebound in June

Hangzhou Customs reported recently that in June, exports from Zhejiang Province strongly rebounded, reaching US $14.16 billion. The growth rate of Zhejiang foreign trade and exports in the first half of this year was higher than national average.
Analysts believe that this positive trend is the result of Province's efforts to cope with international trade problems by adjusting local industrial structure.
According to statistics, in June, Zhejiang realized a foreign trade volume worth $19.33 billion, up 31.5 percent. Of these, exports scored $14.16 billion, a rise of 32.7 percent, and imports fetched $5.17 billion, 28.3 percent more than that in May.
Trade surplus during the month was registered $8.99 billion, a climb of 9.2 from that in previous month.
In the first half of this year, Zhejiang realized a cumulative foreign trade worth $102.39 billion, a year-on-year increase of 27 percent, and 1.3 percent higher than national average growth rate.
Exports marked around $73 billion, augmenting 26 percent as compared to same time of 2007, and 4.2 percent higher than national average growth rate.
Imports recorded $29.29 billion, a year-on-year surge of 29.3 percent, but 1.3 percent lower than national average growth rate.
Accumulated trade surplus reached $43.81 billion, up 23.8 percent or $8.41 billion over the corresponding period of last year.
Exports of textile yarn, fabrics and manufactured products stood at $10.03 billion, mounting 35.9 percent. However, some new industries and products have proved to be lucrative ventures for Zhenjiang exports in the first half of 2008.
