For the purpose of creating the 2008/2009 Heimtextil Trends, a round table of the following five internationally-renowned design studios was held early this year:
• bora.herke stilbüro (Germany)
• Carlin International (France)
• Stijlinstituut Amsterdam (the Netherlands)
• Concept Magenta (Switzerland)
• Alvisi e Alvisi (Italy)

The world of textile interiors has entered the times of a new reality, when it is necessary to find one's position in time and space and then set one's course for a new purism – purity and austerity of lines, textures, and colors. Those are the 2008/09 trend's basic principles, making one combine the present and the modern in the most resolute manner. The new millennium is making us realise that it is time to make some changes – new perspectives, new concepts, and new positions are waiting to be explored.

The 2008/09 season calls out for “Its time to be ... Fantastic, Original, Energetic, and Magical. At Heimtextil Russia, Claudia Herke (design studio bora.herke stilbüro) will present the new season's colors and trends within the framework of presentation lectures and a special tour of the trend show.

The trade fair's special guest, Christian Lundwall (an architect and designer and the author of the interiors of hotel chains of Rezidor Hotel Group and Best Western Premier, as well as the Radisson SAS Hotel, which is under construction in Moscow) will hold the professional seminar "Interior Design for Chain Hotels – International Experience." and present his design projects.

The Russian section of the seminar program will be presented by vetlana Begovatova, a professor of several international universities, member of jury panels of international contests, international expert on design and fashion. Her seminars will address the industry's most relevant and vital issues. The registered subjects include as follows: Fashion Trends of 2008-2010 in Interior Design; Fashionable Textiles in Interiors. Overview of Collections from Italy, France, Japan, and other countries; Dynamics Microfiber – New Material for Interiors; and Eco-Home.

Seminars and master classes dedicated to window décor and interior textiles will be given by Dellari – Zelyony Les.

You can see all that and much more at Heimtextil Russia on September 9-12, 2008, at Crocus Expo Exhibition Centre, Pavilion 2, Hall 9 and Hall 11. For specialists, admittance is free upon presentation of invitation cards. On-line registration at messefrankfurt.ru will facilitate receipt of attendee badges and save your time.

For the first time, Light Russia, an international salon for interior lighting, will be held simultaneously with Heimtextil Russia and present the second interior-forming component – light.

The fair program will feature the seminar "Natural and Artificial Illumination for Public Buildings" by Rogier van der Heide, a world-famous lighting designer and the head of Arup Lighting, the author of numerous architectural and interior lighting projects worldwide, including the lighting concept for the Louis Voitton boutiques, for which he earned the International As sociation of Lighting Designer's (IALD) Radiance Award for Excellence in the category Trade Centers. The invitees for his seminar include leading architects, interior designers, developers, and representatives of the contract market.
