METabolic EXplorer reports Q2 revenues

METabolic EXplorer a green chemistry company that specializes in the development of bioprocesses for the production of chemical compounds used in a wide range of everyday products (paints, solvents, adhesives, textile fibres, resorbable surgical thread) announced its revenues for the 2nd Quarter ending 30 June 2008.

The revenues of METabolic EXplorer for the 2nd quarter 2008 are mainly due to licensing deals from on-going technology programmes.

As a result, the company's revenues do not develop in a linear way from one accounting period to another. Revenues for the 4th Quarter 2007 were 1,000 thousand Euros.

Product portfolio:
PDO: obtained the first samples with a purity above 99,5%. These PDO samples have been produced by fermentation of crude, industrial glycerol (non-refined)
BUTANOL: the programme has move into the pre-industrial pilot phase
Glycolic Acid: obtained a bacterial strain with significantly improved performance which enables the programme to move into the pre-industrial pilot phase nearly ten months earlier than originally expected.

Staff numbers:
A 9 % increase in staff numbers over this quarter. As a result the Company had 84 employees (full time) as of 30 June 2008 (compared to 77 employees on 31st March 2008).

Since the beginning of 2008, the company's staff numbers have increased by 23%. During the same period, the industrialisation department staff grew by 100%.
