Trade volume for island yarn shrinks last week

Last week, from July 14 to 20, influenced by weak trading session of cloth market from down stream players, island composite filaments in Shengze market saw reduced trade volume; however, prices remain unchanged during this period.

Market price of island composite yarn DTY 215 D stood at 17000-17200 yuan per ton and DTY 105 D / 36F quoted at about 21,500 yuan per ton. In comparison, island composite yarn DTY 105 D met steady purchasing power; it is mainly used for woven chammy fabrics. Market demand of 160 D also enlarged.

Demand of FDY island yarn from down stream sector was still insufficient, FDY 75 D (superior quality) was quoted at around 15,800 yuan per ton, and lower promotional price stood at about 15,200 yuan per ton, flat with the previous week.

Market analysts observe that presently trade volume of various island chammy fabrics is not large and this trend is expected to last till mid August. Manufacturers are mostly focusing Jiangsu and Zhejiang region. Shengze is the main production and marketing base of woven chammy fabrics. According to experts, if chammy fabric sale increases in the second half, island yarn market is likely to get a more favourable response in the market.
