Although textile industry of China is thriving, fibre production in the period from January to June demonstrated a fluctuating trend.

This is apparent from the latest statistics provided by National Bureau of Statistics, which shows that in the seven month period, total production of chemical fiber pulp produced in China by above-scale textile enterprises (with annual income over 5 million yuan) reached 719,900 tons.

The figures depicted a year-on-year rise of 24.45 percent; but 5.08 percentage points below the growth rate of the previous month.

At the same time, viscose fiber output reached 116,000 tons during this month; depicting a fall of 800 tons or 0.68 percent from the previous month, representing a year-on-year decline of 25.83 percent.

In the first six months this year, China's total production of viscose fiber completed 743,600 tons, representing a 12.08 percent decrease from the same period last year.

The data further showcased that China produced 1.698 million tons of polyester fiber in June this year. The figures show a down fall of 8000 tons or 0.47 percent from May, but up 31,200 tons or 1.87 percent compared with the same period last year.
