EPG starts high-tech carbon fibre precursor development

The recent inauguration of the Company's new Technology & Innovation Center in Meitingen is part of this strategy, where SGL Group's global research and development activities have been bundled. The T&I Center will provide up to 150 jobs for scientists and engineers.
"Bayern FIT” is a program for the further development of Bavaria as a center of research and technology. On July 8, 2008, the Bavarian state government approved €1.5 billion funding for the program. This sum includes €490 million of funds previously earmarked for the Transrapid.
The support from the Bavarian government for the development of this key technology was one of the main reasons of the decision to locate SGL Group's high-tech facilities in Bavaria.
