The textile team of United States House of Representatives has requested permission to supervise the imports from China.
Officials urged the Government to draft a clear procedure of inspection regarding the Chinese textile products that enter US markets at much cheaper rates.
Besides, they have also sent a letter in this regard to 80 members of the legislatures of American Textile State, hoping to exert pressure on the Government. Already, 14 members have expressed their support by signing the letter.
Experts say that strict check on Chinese imports is extremely necessary because the US quotas are set to be lifted by the end of 2008, and the US needs to restrict flooding of cheap imports.
