Shell Chemicals appoints Mr Nigel as VP Operations & HSSE

Shell Chemicals are pleased to announce the appointment of Nigel Hobson as Vice President Operations and HSSE, effective immediately.

Nigel Hobson joins the Chemicals Leadership Team as Vice President Operations and HSSE, having worked in Shell Chemicals since August 2007 as General Manager, Supply & Logistics.

Nigel first joined Shell in early 2005 as a Consultancy Manager in the Downstream Strategy & Portfolio Management Consultancy leading a number of international engagements.

After graduating as a Chemical Engineer from Exeter University in 1987, Nigel gained broad experience with ExxonMobil. He held leadership roles in Refinery Operations, Crude Oil Trading, Corporate Planning, Supply & Distribution Operations and B2B Sales.

Additional changes to the existing Shell Chemicals leadership team include the appointment of Graham Van' t Hoff as Vice President Global Base Chemicals. This appointment consolidates the current Base Chemicals Europe, Americas and APME businesses into one global division under his leadership.

Graham was appointed to the Chemicals Leadership team in February 2005, adding the role of General Manager Shell Chemicals Europe BV in March 2006.

Stacy Methvin, currently Vice President Base Chemicals Americas, will be leaving Shell Chemicals to take up a new role within Shell as Vice President Supply Strategy and Portfolio in Downstream, with effect from September 1, 2008.

Sven Royall, currently Vice President Customer Services and Intermediates, is appointed Vice President Global Intermediates.

Allen Kirkley remains as Vice President Strategy and Portfolio whilst Iain Lo, currently Vice President Ventures and Development Asia Pacific-Middle East, now assumes accountability for all new business development activities in his role as Vice President New Business Development and Ventures.

Shell Chemicals collectively refers to the companies of the Shell Group that are indivividually engaged in the chemicals business and each of which has their own independent management and board of directors.
