Bangladesh is gearing up to hold an exclusive exhibition of its wide range of products in Greece in March 2009. This expo will be organized under the collaboration of Greek-Bangladeshi Commercial and Cultural Chamber and the Greece-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GBCCI).

Some of the products that will be showcased in the fair include readymade garments, handicraft items made from jute and leather along with an array of home décor items.

GBCCI is planning to send a group of nine members to Greece from September 15 to 21 to ink an agreement with Rota Ltd, one of the biggest Event Management Company in the country. The delegate will consist of members related to expo committee and media.

Along with the meeting with Rota, the officials will also hold discussions with various groups of exporters for enhancing business between two countries.

According to industry insiders, Bangladeshi readymade apparels have not found good market in Greece. However, this exhibition will be a perfect platform for the garment manufacturers to display their wide range of clothing in order to get new trade deals.

Experts believe that, low price and GSP facility in European countries has paved the way for Bangladeshi knitwear exports. However, due to diversified fashion trends in European regions, the domestic industry is unable to keep up with ever changing fashion trends.
